Some of the chimney climbing stuff looks like what we do in the gym when we get bored, but he's a hell of a lot faster.  Reminds me of Dan Osman, who did lots of crazy solo climbing.  He was also known for doing rope jumps.  He'd set up a fixed rope from two mountain peaks, tie a rope in the middle, and jump off one of them using a dynamic climbing rope (not a bungee cord).  He eventually died when two of the ropes rubbed together, causing one of them to melt and break.  Years later, people in the community still talk about him.

Check out the fall around 7:30.  You can see lots of the pieces of protection he placed rip out of the wall in succession (called zippering).  If that happened to me, the only thing I could imagine doing after throwing up is kissing the piece of gear that actually held.
