I'm re-working the web site again.  I'm finally tossing in the most requested feature over the years: you can now read old stories.  Feel free to poke around, but bear in mind that most things don't work yet.  Now would be a really good time to make suggestions.

Database changes

I'm making changes in the backend database that may break things here.  Let me know if you notice anything bad happening.

Posting comments and stories seems to work, so if you're inclined to do either, consider using the new page.

He just won't go down, but it would appear Ice Storm 2007 resulted in a redesign

I meant rackie as guess towards its ruby on railsness, where is my ajax? Preview could be ajax oh and one of those fun "lickable" big style site name banner images, with the word beta in it

Rackie-O-Yeah 3 Beta

Then you'll be web 2.0 compliant

What a good idea on the web 2.0 compliance.  I thought about AJAXing the login, but doing the preview is a better idea.

Nice use of the formatting tags.  It just occurred to me I should probably turn this type of stuff into fixed-width.

Lack of homework and inability to get out much can do some crazy things to web sites.  Rails is too sexy to pass up.

On each story, would be nice to waste time to browse through all the stories

Going live

Anybody have any objections to switching to the new site?

of course

there is nothing but the live version

ajax would be nice to have the formatting help display a div fade in above this instead of a pop up window

you like that ajax, huh?

Good call on that.  I do hate popups.  It's on the list.

AJAX is now in effect for the 'formatting help' links.  I'm still thinking how to implement the same thing for previews.

are now done with AJAX.
